Actually writing this one out because a) canon isn't super clear and b) I feel like it.

Skill #2: Summoning

In Aono, every new exorcist undergoes a brief test to see if they have tamer talent or not. This basically consists of taking a piece of paper with a summoning circle on it and seeing if anything comes out. These summoned critters are semi-benign; they can be cute and cuddly, but it's also super possible to summon yourself a slobbering monster (as seen with the more advanced summons). In either case, it takes strength of will and confidence in order to keep the summoned thing under control. If you lose your nerve, they turn on you. Also presumably it costs energy to both perform the initial ritual and maintain the summon.

Shiemi and Namiki both provide examples of this onscreen, with somewhat differing conditions. Namiki loses control of her summons, for example, but Shiemi never has a problem with it; Shiemi also seems to have her (tiny cute summon) with her more or less constantly until it gets desummoned during a fight. Then it won't return until she gets enough confidence to bring it back. She's also forced to maintain her summon during a fight, with it disappearing as soon as she runs out of juice. TL;DR there's strong canon evidence that proper summoning takes strong confidence and a constant flow of energy, the latter of which is limited by Aather.

Yukio, on the other hand, shows zero signs of having tamer talent until he suddenly summons like. Seven naiads in the middle of a fight against Toudou. It's stated that he doesn't have his meistery in Taming either--he just went off whatever knowledge he had and BAM summoning happened. It was also an emergency in canon, buuut since this is Yukio's first combat skill, he'll be using it a lot more in Aather.

So here's how it's probably going to work on Yukio's side of things. He's just gotten back two things: his latent pseudo-magical reserves (for Taming specifically) and the knowledge required to pull off a summoning. The former is canonly shown to be large enough to summon seven powerful spirits, but in Aather that'll be restricted to one of whatever will respond to him here. And he'll probably pass out the first time. (Subsequent summonings will take less energy, however.) Maintaining the summon also takes energy, but whether he can keep it semi-constantly (like Shiemi's case) will depend on how benign the spirit is.

Whichhh brings me to the point where I need to ask AJ and Zazzle what's available. \:D/ Hopefully he can get something interesting to use in combat. ... or maybe something will go terribly wrong when he tries, idk.
